I started looking for some simple, but frugal ideas. There are all kinds of ideas, however this one caught my eye right away. Snowmen made from socks. Socks without matches. I have those, piles and piles of those! We have white ones, colored ones, patterned ones, ones with snowmen, ones with camouflage, but I digress.
This idea would be easy and frugal and we had everything on hand. Yep my kind of craft. Oh and we could finish it in one night. Another requirement in our house.
We busted out the craft stuff and got busy. I have no pictures of the process and how much fun it was to clean up the spilled rice. No pictures of me screaming after I burned myself with the glue gun. You guys are really missing out. I know!
I would call this a success. Everyone participated. No one complained. We have some stinking cute snowmen on the shelves now. All they need is some snow and they are set. I should have made some hot cocoa or something, but I didn't. Enjoy the pictures!

I am sorry you don't have snow. Winter doesn't seem like winter without it- though in your area (at least from our experience in living in that general area) snow wasn't to be expected to stay around to long. We have actually had a light snow year too but at least we have some.
The last two days have been gorgeous because it has been foggy and the temps have been just around freezing and everything (trees, basketball hoops, grasses, etc) has been covered with a thick frost. It is incredibly beautiful!
